| Question: | Do you have a referral program? | | Answer: | Yes! We are currently beta-testing the service, and we are taking new members on a case by case basis. If you are intereseted in joining, please email us at referral-beta@shotgunrules.com for more information. |

| Question: | What are the responsibilities that accompany riding Shotgun? | | Answer: | Responsibilities include selecting music, navigation, and keeping the driver awake. A new section detailing responsibilites will be added to the rules when we make the next run of the Pocket Reference Guide in the near future. |
| Question: | Can the driver override any valid Shotgun call? | | Answer: | No! This undermines the whole purpose of calling Shotgun in the first place and makes the game subjective. We call the driver override method the "Shotgun Dictatorship" because of its obvious similarities to the government type with the same name. |
| Question: | What is the "Blitz Rule" and why isn't it listed in the rules? | | Answer: | Some people include a rule in their Shotgun practice whereby "Blitz" can be called, at which point a free-for-all of Shotgun is initiated and whoever manages to gain control of the Shotgun seat by any means necessary is declared the winner.
There are two reasons we refuse to acknowledge this style of play. The first is that it negates all other rules and therefore defeats the whole purpose of having rules to call Shotgun by. The second is that Shotgun is intended to be a game of wits, not braun. |
| Question: | Do tall people get automatic Shotgun? | | Answer: | While it is certainly rude to stick tall people into tiny backseats, it's also unfair to just give them Shotgun under any circumstances. We suggest that if you are too tall to fit into a particular backseat, then ask your co-passengers for Shotgun. If they are not nice enough to grant you the seat, then consider getting some new friends. |
| Question: | Does the Rock, Paper, Scissors Simulator cheat? | | Answer: | No, at least we don't think so. The computer selects what to play using a sophisticated artificial life algorithm making it extremely difficult to beat. |
| Question: | What are the rules for calling "Seatback"? | | Answer: | Seatback is a very similar game to Shotgun. You call Seatback when you vacate any seat temporarily and want to keep that seat when you return.
For example, let's imagine you are sitting in a comfortable couch watching the Super Bowl. You get hungry and need to get up for a snack, but you don't want someone else you snatch up your seat when you leave. So you call Seatback right after you stand up which grants you five minutes of automatic seat retention. If you were to forget to call Seatback or take more than five minutes to return, then anyone else may steal the prime couch seat from you.
As you can imagine, the rules for calling Seatback are as complicated as the rules for calling Shotgun. We're writing and designing a new site, www.SeatbackRules.com, that will detail the correct way to call Seatback. Check back soon for updates on our progress! |
